This piece features an ancient Egyptian amulet, the Eye of Horus. It has been roughly dated as being from c 2000 BCE to c 300 BCE, and is mounted on a collage of paint scrapings and graffiti. It also features vintage and antique Venetian trade beads (the yellow beads are approximately 200 years old). The two stone beads, known as river amber, are only found in Guinea Bissau, and date to approximately 5000 BCE. A gorgeous piece for the history buff! On soft suede with a sterling silver lobster clasp and findings. Necklace is 20” long; pendant length is additional 1.5”. Pendant is approximately 1.75” in width. Pendant is reversible, with graffiti on rear. Ages of pendant and beads are best guesses based on information received by seller from reliable sources, but seller does not guarantee age.
